We were just talking about our limited egg supply last night (even our back-up farmer has none to sell) and I was thinking of dehydrating a few dozen for back-up. Thanks for the info!Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13716619994168402985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3280390706862225283.post-19969553636702611872012-12-06T11:02:34.146-08:002012-12-06T11:02:34.146-08:00I didn't use any sugar or salt since I don'...I didn't use any sugar or salt since I don't know if we'd be eating them plain or I'd be using them in cooking or baking. They only need to last over the winter, not any longer, so I don't really need to do anything else with them. I do like millenniumfly's idea of powdering them and dehydrating again to reduce the fat. What if it's today? - A survivalist's bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291866801645327324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3280390706862225283.post-46946746746642319692012-12-06T10:42:43.356-08:002012-12-06T10:42:43.356-08:00Thank you so much for sharing this. During the summer, I get dozens of eggs from my rancher and this way I have a way to store them for winter. Did you use any stabilizer? Salt or sugar?
Have a great week.
denimflyzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04737448177805751756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3280390706862225283.post-20540872467522780302012-12-06T07:27:46.173-08:002012-12-06T07:27:46.173-08:00I tried dehydrating eggs before following this vid...I tried dehydrating eggs before following this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMwrc1nlSCA (which was pretty good) but I ended up making a huge mess because I poured too much onto a single sheet and it ran over. I intended to try it again using something with a small lip but never got around to it. Glad to hear you had better luck. FYI, you might still want to powder them and dehydrate again to further reduce fat content for longer storage.millenniumflyhttp://rethinksurvival.comnoreply@blogger.com
